1. About these terms

These terms and conditions apply to all quotes, estimates, bookings, safaris, guided journeys and vehicle hire arranged by Solo Travel Tours and Car Hire (“we”, “us”, “our”). By requesting a quote or confirming a booking you accept these terms.

2. Quotes and estimates

• Quotes and estimates are prepared based on the details you provide and are valid for 14 days unless stated otherwise.
• Prices are shown in South African Rand (ZAR) unless stated otherwise and may change until a booking is confirmed and paid.
• Estimates are not confirmations. A booking is only confirmed once we receive your acceptance and the required payment.
• Availability of lodges, activities and vehicles is subject to change until your booking is confirmed.

3. Bookings and payment

• A deposit is required to secure your booking, with the balance payable before travel as set out in your quote.
• Payments are processed through our secure payment provider. We do not store your full card details.
• Invoices and receipts are issued electronically to the email address on your booking.
• Bookings are not confirmed until payment reflects and we have issued a confirmation.

4. Changes and cancellations by you

• Requests to change dates, travellers or itinerary must be made in writing and depend on availability.
• Cancellations must be made in writing. Cancellation charges may apply based on the policies of our lodges, suppliers and the time before departure.
• Where a supplier’s cancellation terms are stricter than ours, those terms will apply to the relevant portion of your journey.

5. Changes and cancellations by us

We may need to change or cancel arrangements due to weather, safety, animal movement, road conditions, supplier issues or events beyond our control. Where this happens we will offer a reasonable alternative or, where no suitable alternative is available, an appropriate refund of amounts paid to us for the affected services.

6. Travel documents and requirements

• You are responsible for valid passports, visas, health documents and any vaccination requirements.
• Please advise us of any medical conditions, allergies, dietary requirements or mobility needs before travel.
• Travel insurance covering medical care, cancellation and personal belongings is strongly recommended.

7. Safaris and wildlife

Safaris take place in natural environments. Wildlife sightings are never guaranteed and itineraries may be adjusted for your safety and that of the animals. You must follow the instructions of our guides and park rangers at all times.

8. Vehicle hire

• Drivers must hold a valid licence and meet the minimum age and licence requirements for the vehicle hired.
• Vehicles must be used lawfully and responsibly. Fines, tolls and damage caused by misuse are your responsibility.
• Fuel, deposit and insurance conditions for hire are set out in your hire agreement.

9. Responsibility and liability

We arrange services with reputable suppliers but are not the provider of all of them. To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the amounts paid to us for the affected services. We are not liable for loss, injury or delay caused by events beyond our reasonable control, or by your failure to meet your responsibilities under these terms.

10. Complaints

If something is not right during your journey, please tell your guide or contact us immediately so we can try to resolve it on the spot. Written complaints can be sent to info@solotraveltours.co.za.

11. Privacy

We handle your personal information in line with our Privacy Policy.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the South African courts.
